Bagging and cupping are, from my point of view, very powerful therapies. The reason is simple: you're applying ozone almost directly to the affected area. And something I firmly believe, this is my opinion, is that ozone is much more effective the closer you can apply it to the problem you're trying to treat.
These two therapies work the same way conceptually. With bagging, you seal a bag around a limb and fill it with ozone. With cupping, you place a cup over a specific area. In both cases, the ozone contacts the skin and wound directly. For problems you can locate, a wound, a rash, an infection on a specific spot, these are among the fastest-acting therapies available.
When to Use Them
Here's where I see the real value:
Diabetic foot ulcers. If someone has a diabetic foot, insufflations are going to be valuable for systemic support. But bagging is going to show results much faster. You're putting the ozone directly on the wound. The research from Cuba, multiple randomized controlled trials, has shown significant improvement in wound closure and prevention of amputations with ozone bagging compared to standard care.
Herpes and shingles. Cupping works very well for these. Lately, in the case of shingles, I've seen notable improvement when applying ozonated glycerin in addition to cupping. The combination seems to work better than cupping alone.

A way to vent excess ozone. Either an ozone destructor or a well-ventilated area. You don't want ozone leaking into the room you're breathing in.

For cupping, the setup is similar but smaller, you need a cup or container that can be placed over the specific area, and the same generator and tubing setup.

Start with lower concentrations and shorter durations. You can always increase if your skin tolerates it well.
Safety

Watch for skin irritation. Ozone is an oxidizer, too much concentration or too long exposure can irritate the skin. Redness is normal; open burns are not.

Ventilate. Ozone escaping from the bag into a closed room is not safe to breathe. Either use an ozone destructor or do this in a well-ventilated area.

Clean the area before and after treatment.
The Bottom Line
Bagging and cupping are among the most direct and effective ozone therapies for localized conditions. If you can point to the problem, a wound, an infection, a specific area of skin, these therapies deliver ozone right where it needs to be.
For diabetic foot, bagging should be a frontline therapy alongside insufflations. For herpes and shingles, cupping combined with ozonated glycerin is showing real results. And for any localized skin or wound issue, the combination of direct ozone application followed by ozonated oil or glycerin is hard to beat.
