Red Light / Near Infrared Therapy
Red light therapy is something I think anyone can try at home. It's accessible, it doesn't require a lot of technical knowledge, and the results, when you have the right equipment, are real.
A word of caution
I need to be upfront about something: I've come across devices that claim certain wavelengths that aren't real.
People are selling equipment that doesn't deliver what it promises, and the only thing that happens is you waste your time, and your money.
There's also the opposite problem, some devices are extremely expensive and really don't justify the price tag.
With all the marketing and commercial hype around red light therapy right now, it's easy to overpay for something that doesn't perform better than a much cheaper alternative.
So yes, be careful what you buy, do your research.
How I got into it
I'm going to be honest, I don't want to go too deep into this, but: I got into light therapy years ago because of my son. He had a severe case of acne, and when I found out there were specific wavelengths that could help, I don't remember the colors bu I think it was mainly blue and green, I built a system for him to use.
It was basically like magic, that was maybe 15 years ago, once his acne cleared up, I moved on.
What I think now
With the current state of near infrared and red light technology, I think this is one of the most powerful support therapies available, and it's within reach of basically anyone.
For inflammation, for skin conditions, for general recovery, it works.
But I'll say it again: make sure the equipment you buy actually delivers the wavelengths it claims. That's the most important thing.
For me, the perfect home therapy setup is ozone, PEMF, and infrared light. That trio covers more ground than most people realize.
